Academics
Curriculum
It is the desire of the school to provide a course of study which will produce spiritually strong Christians, while providing the finest of academic training. Winter Haven Christian School uses the best Bible-based curriculum available to educate your children. A Beka is primarily used in Elementary School and WHCS is currently phasing in Saxon Math for our Elementary and Secondary programs. Our Bible curriculum is Positive Action for Christ for our Elementary School and we use many strong Bible curriculum’s for our Secondary students.
Enrichment
Students at WHCS also participate weekly in all of the following special programs:

Preschool through second grade meets at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday; third grade through fifth grade meets at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, and Secondary chapel (grades 6 & up) meets at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday.

Art – In an era where most schools are cutting their art programs, WHCS students learn the fundamentals of drawing and sketching in a weekly art class.
Physical Education – WHCS students learn the fundamentals and participate in age appropriate games and activities.
D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) – Students in 5th grade take part in the nationally recognized D.A.R.E. program. This program is taught by a local police officer who is a Christian believer and has his own children in Christian Schools.
